Cape Cod Maritime Museum
The Cape Cod Maritime Museum is located on the harbor in Hyannis, Massachusetts, near the ferry terminal. It consists of a museum space with changing exhibits that focus on various aspects of maritime history in the area, such as fishing, whaling, navigation, weather, and scrimshaw; an art gallery; indoor and outdoor boat restoration areas; and a barn full of historic boats. The exhibits may incorporate everything from boat models, ancient Polynesian stick charts, and Icelandic spars to vintage nautical charts, harpoons, and modern electronic equipment.

John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum
Housed in the former Hyannis Town Hall, The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum highlights the Kennedy family's—specifically JFK's—relationship with Cape Cod. The president would spend summer breaks and family days in Hyannis, often taking much-needed rests from the challenges of government. With both rotating exhibits and a strong permanent collection, the museum's four galleries display archival photographs, videos, and oral histories. Much of the museum is wheelchair accessible, including restrooms and exhibits. There is a handicapped parking spot. A gift store is on the premises.

New England Aquarium
The New England Aquarium is home to thousands of aquatic animals, from the giant Pacific octopus to Northern fur seals to little blue penguins. They offer a wide range of exhibits, including a shark and ray touch tank and the Giant Ocean Tank, a four-story coral reef featuring hundreds of Caribbean animals. In addition, they have an IMAX theatre and run whale watch boat excursions in partnership with Boston Harbor Cruises from April through November.

Pilgrim Monument & Provincetown Museum
The Provincetown Museum exhibits tell the story of the arrival of the Mayflower Pilgrims, the town's rich maritime history, the early days of modern American theater in Provincetown, and the building of the Pilgrim Monument. The 252-foot granite monument came first, with the museum installed at its base later. There is also a recreation of a 19th century sea captain's parlor at home and his quarters at sea, a diorama of the Mayflower Compact being signed aboard the Mayflower in Provincetown Harbor, and a scale model of the first theater of the Provincetown Players.

USS Constitution Museum
The museum, a part of the Boston National Historical Park, is located in the Charlestown Navy Yard near the ship USS Constitution (“Old Ironsides”) at the end of Boston's Freedom Trail. The museum provides a detailed look at the history of the ship, information about the war of 1812, and the battle between the ship and HMS Java. Stories are told through interactive exhibits, unique artifacts, archival records, and artwork. The museum also includes a research library which houses a strong collection of manuscripts, books, artifacts, and microfilm of primary source material. The ship itself is maintained by the US Navy, and may be visited free of charge on certain days.

Whydah Pirate Museum
This museum in West Yarmouth is home to the largest collection of pirate artifacts recovered from a single shipwreck—the Whydah Gally—anywhere in the world. Originally a slave ship, the pirate vessel sank off the coast of Wellfleet in 1717. The museum contains multiple exhibit wings, the Bell Theater room, a walk-through partial replica of the Whydah Gally, and the SeaLab and Learning Center—the museum's onsite conservation laboratory. Exhibits display artifacts of the slave trade and pirate life, early maps of the Atlantic and the Caribbean, and imagery of the 18th-century world. Fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. There a gift shop on the premises.
