Lisa Raczka fell in love with photography at the age of 16 when a teacher put a Minolta in her hands. She began to see the world differently, and was able to view everything from the tiniest of creatures to the vastness of the Milky Way. She is drawn to capture macro, landscape, intentional camera movement, birds and the night sky.

Cape Cod is her canvas but she has no strings. Wherever Raczka is in the world, she walks out the door ready to capture the moment! She is in love with the beauty of the natural world. Sometimes it hits her when she’s taking pictures in the middle of the night, climbing a mountain in Acadia National Park or sipping coffee in her backyard on the Cape.

Now that she’s retired from being a middle school counselor of 40 years, her photography reminds her to slow down and appreciate everything. As Raczka has grown and things have changed, photography has always gotten her to stop, look, and create. The beauty that surrounds us is right outside your door!

As Bruce Garrabrandt stated, “Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones.”

She thanks two Cape Cod photographers that have inspired her through the years: Tim Little and Steve Kopel.
