July is officially Lakes Appreciation Month, and many libraries across the country are celebrating with the "Libraries Love Lakes" outreach initiative. The Brewster Ladies Library is doing so on Saturday, July 25, from 11 AM to 2 PM. The Brewster Ponds Coalition will be participating in this event with information for both children and adults. 

The BPC will have the computerized microscope that is used in its children's Pond Education Program, magnifying some of the unique species that live in Brewster's ponds such as Dragonfly nymphs, Water Boatmen, Whirligig Beetles, and more. Children can also enjoy coloring pages and puzzles that depict life in our ponds. 

In addition, the BPC table will have literature about cyanobacteria and other issues facing Brewster's ponds. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and explain ways that you can volunteer and support its mission of "to protect and improve the health of Brewster's ponds through science, education and advocacy."
