Please join us on Friday, September 1st from 12-2pm to thank Nori for her service and wish her best of luck in her new job as Director of Nahant Public Library!
Nori Morganstein has worked as the Youth Services Librarian and Assistant Director for the Brewster Ladies’ Library since 2013. Her passion for the arts, technology, and literacy inspired a generation of readers to love learning in the Brewster community. She has done everything from host Spy Night after hours, teach children how to code, produce craft videos when the library was closed in 2020, perform thousands of storytimes for babies and toddlers, turn the library into a giant scavenger hunt, and have Stuffed animal sleepovers. She introduced therapy dogs to the library, take-home kits, and helped set up the Library of Things. She served on the Music Committee for 10 years and helped plan hundreds of concerts, not to mention thousands of programs for all ages. In scheduling every art show for the last ten years, she developed her own love for creating art and has become inspired by the beautiful work of the community she was surrounded by every day.
She accepted a Library Director Position at the Nahant Public Library, and when recently asked what she will miss the most about Brewster, she said: “the patrons. I’ll miss everyone who comes to the Banned Book Club and all of the Latham volunteers. I’ll miss all of the Library volunteers, and everyone who comes to each Winter Concert. Brewster is a special place, and I’ll miss it more than words can express.” Her last day is Friday September 1st
