Explore the Calf Field Pond Area with Hal Minis

Wednesday, May 2410:00—11:00 AMOffsite Location

The Punkhorn Parklands is an area with roots deep in the history of Brewster. A major part of the Stony Brook watershed, it stands as one of the few large undeveloped and environmentally rich parcels of land left on Cape Cod. Join BCT Trustee Hal Minis as he sets out to explore the Calf Field Pond area of the Punkhorn Parklands. The Calf Field Pond area is distinctly different from other trails in the Punkhorn Parklands. Geologically, it is hilly and rocky and full of kettle holes typical of high moraines. The trail system passes through beech groves and by areas where large granite boulders were quarried for use in making harbor jetties along the bay. We request that participants not bring their four-legged friends on group walks. Total Distance: 2.5 miles; approximately 1.5 hours. The walk is co-sponsored by the Brewster Conservation Trust and the Brewster Ladies’ Library Association. Please register below.
