Evening Book Group: Deacon King Kong

Thursday, February 175:30—6:30 PMZoom

Join us for a discussion of one of Oprah’s book club picks, “Deacon King Kong” by James McBride. The story starts in September of 1969, when a cranky old church deacon known as Sportcoat shuffles into the courtyard of the Cause Houses housing project in Brooklyn, pulls a .38 from his pocket, and shoots the project’s drug dealer at point-blank range.
