Emergency and Disaster Preparedness on Cape Cod: Actions You Can Take to be Ready

Cape Cod is vulnerable to many unique challenges, including disasters and weather-related events. It’s important to know what hazards you might face and how to best prepare for them. In their presentation, Chip will teach you about the importance of planning for emergencies and how to build your disaster kit. Shelly will then introduce you to the Massachusetts Homeowners Handbook to Prepare for Coastal Hazards and provide an overview of what it means to live on the Cape in an ever-changing environment.

This talk is presented as part of Cape Cod Coastal Resilience Week, which aims to raise awareness and increase our community's resilience to the impacts of climate change, particularly from storms, erosion, and flooding. Visit seagrant.whoi.edu/cccrw-2024.
