An overview of producer Brad Simpson’s experience selecting books to adapt for film and television, and the process of working with authors and writers. Projects discussed will include: Crazy Rich Asians, The Hunger Games, The People vs. O.J. Simpson, Say Nothing, Where’d You Go, Bernadette, and more. Brad will draw on his two-decade career in Hollywood. His company, Color Force, is known for shepherding iconic literary material and working with some of Hollywood’s biggest directors.
Brad Simpson is an Emmy and Golden Globe winning producer of film and television. He is partners with Nina Jacobson in Color Force. His films and television shows have collectively received 65 Emmy Nominations and six Academy Award Nominations. He is the executive producer of the upcoming America Sports Story: Gladiator about the Boston Patriots/Aaron Hernandez scandal and Clipped, starring Laurence Fishburne, Ed O’Neil and Jackie Weaver about the 2014 Clippers scandal. He is also the Executive Producer of Say Nothing, based on Patrick Radden Keefe’s award-winning bestselling nonfiction book. All will premiere on FX/Hulu in 2024.
Along with Nina Jacobson, Simpson produced The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes based on the fourth book in Suzanne Collin’s best-selling The Hunger Games series. Prior to joining Color Force, Simpson was President of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way. He began his career as a producer and executive at legendary New York indie production company Killer Films. Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Simpson graduated magna cum laude from Brown University.
