Supreme Judicial Court Associate Justice Scott Kafker will discuss the role and authority of the Court in Massachusetts. Through case examples, he will share how the Justices approach legal issues and provide information on the hierarchy of our court system and the differentiation between state and federal authority. Justice Kafker was appointed to the Supreme Judicial Court in 2017 and served as the Chief Justice of the Appeals Court from 2015 – 2017 and as a Justice of this Court from 2001.
