Born months before Pearl Harbor, Carl Weis grew up in NJ, first encountered Cape Cod in his early teens, and painted on canvas in Wellfleet. At Brown he majored in art, then got his M.F.A. in painting from Columbia. This gave entry to 40 years of teaching art at the college level.

Along the way, he exhibited art from NYC to London, Brussels, and upstate NY. He works in various media -- oil, acrylic, pencil, monoprint marbling, and sundry others. He is now a resident in Brewster and still catching new inspirations.
