Electric Words: A Generative Workshop on Prose Poetry, with Poet Rose Auslander

Thursday, October 65:30—6:30 PMAuditorium Brewster Ladies' Library1822 Main Street, Brewster, MA, 02631
Zoom

Whether you’ve never written before or have published widely, come unleash the power of your words. Don’t brake for lines or stanzas, don’t even pause to breathe, just let your words accelerate, streaming into image on image, sound on sound.

With inspiration from poems that show a range of prose poetry options, we’ll:

- Explore the prose poetry toolbox

- Play with prompts to carry us into a new poem

- Share some of what we’ve written, for mutual support, with all invited to read (or to simply listen)

Rose Auslander lives on Cape Cod year-round and is addicted to poetry and water, not necessarily in that order. Her book Wild Water Child won the 2016 Bass River Press Poetry Contest; her chapbooks include Folding Water, Hints, and The Dolphin in the Gowanus; and look for her poems in the Berkeley Poetry Review, New American Writing, the New Ohio Review, RHINO, Rumble Fish, Tupelo Quarterly, and Tinderbox. She earned her MFA in Poetry at Warren Wilson, and a couple of her prose poem publications are here https://www.dmqreview.com/auslanders22?msclkid=dbebdff2c0be11ec8642a4a42e809528 and https://www.baltimorereview.org/winter_2022/contributor/rose-auslander
