Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes in the operations of a major professional sport? Steve Stirling, pro scout for the Ottawa Senators, will provide a top-to-bottom glimpse into the inner workings of the National Hockey League.

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Stirling started his hockey career playing with the Boston Bruins. From there he coached college-level hockey at Babson and Providence, then was Director of Athletics at Babson. He later served as a professional hockey coach with the New York Islanders, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Springfield Falcons, Norfolk Admirals, and the Germany and Italy Elite Leagues. He became an assistant coach of the Binghamton Senators (the Ottawa Senators’ organization) in 2010 and has been a pro scout since 2017.

Stirling holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Boston University, where, as an undergraduate, he was an NCAA Division I Ice Hockey All American. He currently resides in Sandwich, Massachusetts.
